Metrohm Method Development Process (MMD) is designed to give you confidence in the final solution, whether you are just starting out exploring spectroscopy or want to get more out of an existing instrument.

Click on each tab below to see what happens at each step of the process.

A Metrohm expert works with you to understand your problem and determine the solutions.

Some of the things we look at are:

  • Application goals and requirements
  • Sampling requirements
  • Existing measurement capabilities

We assess the feasibility of your measurements and determine the next steps for implementing a solution.

This could be:

Based on the Need Assessment and Feasibility steps, we clearly define the deliverables, requirements, and timeline for our collaboration with you.

This typically includes:

  • A written proposal, project plan, statement of work, or memorandum of understanding as appropriate
  • A formal presentation by our spectroscopy expert on the recommended path forward
  • A Metrohm field service engineer installs the analyzer and provides the basic operating training to get you ready for the MMD steps as defined in the proposal

  • If we are doing method development for an existing instrument, we’ll do an instrument certification and/or software and hardware training to ensure you are operating at peak performance first

The Metrohm spectroscopy expert works with you onsite or remotely to ensure optimal data goes into your method.

This process includes:
  • Initial development, which typically occurs onsite to ensure best practices for data collection are followed. In the case of simple analyses, this may be enough
  • More complicated efforts move to remote development
The Metrohm spectroscopy expert checks your application’s performance over time and makes remote or onsite improvements if necessary. This key final step ensures that Metrohm delivers the agreed upon outcome and gives you confidence that your method is working.
